We are very proud to announce that we will soon be working with Port producer Vieira de Sousa. Now on their fifth-generation of wine producers, the Vieira de Sousa family harvests from 4 Quintas of vineyards, consisting of 60 hectares.
The family’s past has not always been an easy one: decades ago, following difficulties caused by vineyard disease, the family was forced to sell their winery’s brand. It was years later, after the family replanted their vines, that they was able to regularly conduct harvests once again. And by 2008, they had successfully returned to bottling Port under their own name.
We cannot contain our excitement at this chance to work with an established and talented winemaking house like Vieira de Sousa. Their wines show unrivaled focus and complexity, and are certain to take a leading role in America’s quickly growing Port culture.
